Here and there . . .

  • Congratulations to Christine ("Laudem Gloriae") on the birth of her child.

  • Over at Catholics in the Public Square, co-editor Earl E. Appleby is chronicling the "crisis of identity" in the Democratic Party in the wake of the 2004 election. Both Kerry and Howard Dean recently admitted the need to "welcome pro-life Democrats" into their camp. The obvious problem is how to do so when the Democrats staunchly ally themselves with NARAL and abortion rights activists.

We can expect much heated debate in the future as Nancy Keenan and company contend with rival pro-life Democrats, vying for popularity and influence. Or, as Earl says, "a carnival sideshow: big on promise and short on delivery."

  • Liberal Catholic blogger Jcecil requests the assistance of conservative Catholics (no, really) and asks a question about papal infalllibility. I'm afraid I'm not as proficient in the nitty gritty details of the doctrine of papal infallibility to answer his question, but perhaps one of my more knowledgeable readers?
